Talking About Tree Care Services

Hi there, my name is Neil. I am excited to share my knowledge about tree service with you all. My land is absolutely covered in fruit trees. Before I started providing the trees with regular care, they did not produce much fruit each year. I worked with a tree service professional to see if we could improve their yields across the board. My tree service professional eliminated pests and improved the health of my trees in a short span of time. The trees started producing fruit in abundance after that point. My site will explore the extreme level of care provided to trees by these dedicated professionals.

Three Trees That Rarely Require Pruning

by Fred Nelson

Trees are a great addition for nearly any property. They provide shade and reduce local temperatures; they absorb excess Stormwater and combat erosion; and they feed and shelter a variety of wild animals.

However, trees – particularly large species – also require a significant investment of time and money if they're to remain healthy and safe. They must be watered and inspected on a regular basis, and they must also be pruned every few years. But trees exhibit varying requirements for these types of maintenance procedures. This is especially true of pruning; Some trees simply need more pruning than others do.

Wise property owners consider the long-term needs of a given tree species before installing it – especially as it relates to pruning. By doing so, you can keep your maintenance costs low and headaches to a minimum.

Consider the following three species the next time you are shopping for trees. These three species will tend to stay relatively small and require little, if any, pruning.

Crepe Myrtles – Given that most landscapers recommend pruning crepe myrtles (Lagerstroemia spp.) every year, it seems strange to include them on a list of trees that do not require frequent pruning. However, the truth is that crepe myrtles will thrive perfectly well without being trimmed regularly. Un-pruned crepe myrtles will grow much larger than their regularly pruned counterparts, but they never become gigantic trees – they typically reach heights of only 15 to 25 feet.

Eastern Redbuds – Eastern redbuds (Cercis canadensis) can reach about 30 feet in height, but most remain much shorter than this. In fact, it is this small mature size, along with their beautiful purple blooms and heart-shaped leaves, which makes them so popular among homeowners. Additionally, unlike some other trees which may take 10 years or more to begin flowering, redbuds often flower before their fifth birthday.

Loblolly Pines – If you are looking for a tall tree that will need very little supplemental care, you can't go wrong with a loblolly pine (Pinus taeda). While loblolly trees require ample sunlight and plenty of water to survive, they don't require much else. It is imperative, however, that these trees are planted in lots big enough to host them, as loblolly pines may reach 90 feet in height, and some reach even higher into the sky. Nevertheless, loblolly pines are a self-pruning species, which will shed their lower branches as they go, thereby relieving you of the obligation to do so.
